Whiteness is nothing to be proud of. When you say you’re proud to be white this is what we PoC think of:

Oh forgive me, I was born white. There were people in the past that shared my skin color and then did something you consider wrong. Ignoring my own opinions, let’s break this down, shall we? (I wish I had the full thing, but I couldn’t reblog the entire thing. You’ll need to follow the path back in order to read all of it.)

1. There were white people who did wrong, and therefore, being white is bad.

You claim to make your argument for the “PoC” as it were. Does this mean you are proud of being colored? Should you be though? Have all PoC been paragons of virtue throughout the ages? I didn’t think so. If you are proud to be your skin color, everyone else should be.

2. Being proud of your whiteness makes you a racist.

So if you’re white and proud, you’re a racist, but colored and proud, you’re not? Pretty sure that’s racist. Stop being a hypocrite.

3. Whiteness believes everything is inferior.

You are saying that whiteness is wrong, and therefore, inferior. What the hell? And if you say no, well, you specifically said you should be proud of colored history, but ashamed of white history.

4. “If you are calling this post racist against white people, the bus will be here shortly. there is a seat in it with your name on it.”

You opened this can of worms when you said this. You used insulted anyone who disagreed with you. Why? You dare to think that your opinion is the highest and the fucking mightiest? If so, I don’t think you really deserve to have one, but I still respect your right to have one.

No, it’s your turn to shut up and listen. You made your argument, now be a decent human being and let others do the same. Otherwise, you have no right to complain about no one hearing your voice.

We are all human. You hate racism? Then remember that we are all one race. We all share in the blame. We all share in the glory. Next time, try and remember that.
